Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Excellent service, large selection. Meatball sandwich and pizza were yummy!!! Great place to grab and bite and hang out awhile.

My husband and I came her with our kids on out vacation cause it looked like a nice little pizza joint. I waited on the car while my husband went in cause we where taking it to go. I was getting curious when it felt like my husband had been gone forever... 55 min to be exact for a to go order. After my husband got back to the car he told me that he sat there and waited in the assigned waiting area for our food. He walked around while the staff looked right at him. When they took his order they also took his name in his thinking that they would call it when the pizza was done but nope... after a little while he went up to the desk and asked the staff when his pizza would be done and they told him "oh its been done we thought you left" when he told them that he had been waiting in there waiting area they laughed and told him "no one ever Waits there." Like he would know being from out of town. Our pizza was cold and not very good. Not much flavor. NEVER GOING TO THIS PIZZA PLACE AGAIN!!!

Good spot and family friendly! Fresh! Pros: -we had a gluten free crust combo pizza, which was delicious and fresh. They loaded the toppings on which was awesome. And I mean loaded. -sweet potato fries were yummy - not fancy, reminded me of 1980s pizza house with video games in the establishment. But does have ocean view. It's not right on the water but several tables have a semi-ocean view. - family run Cons: - there's no wait service. You order at the counter and they bring the food out. Not a huge deal, but I'm lazy. -had a couple flies buzzing around. But it's a huge place and wasn't what I would consider problematic. Totally recommend!

Do you want repeat customers? I'm guessing not. Have you ever seen a restaurant fix up show where they point out all the wrong compared to the little that's good, then envision Sunset Family Pizza. 1. Not enough staff ready to greet customers. 2. No sign stating seat yourself or wait to be seated, give us a clue here people. 3. Who's staff? Your all wearing street clothes. Even a polo shirt that signifies that the person standing at the end of the counter looking dumb is staff and not a customer with a question would help. 4. Ever hear of hair nets? 5. Come to work clean please. 6. Don't leave my food in the window so you can talk with friends about nothing, then roll your eyes when you're told for the fourth time to bring deliver the customers order. 7. When I am done eating and making payment, talk to me, I got...."$19", "sign here" and that's it!?!?!? 8. Don't have 9 staff members in the parking lot smoking and taking a break...., at least one of them said "have a nice night". The good? Pizza is kinda ok, not as flavorful as other reviews made me expect. Place looked clean enough, other than that there is nothing that will make me go back and dole out my money... Oh, and if you write an honest review, expect a reply from the staff who obviously don't get along.

The pizza tastes like papa Murphys. So it's definitely not good enough for a pizza place! Avoid it if you can
(2)Debbie S.
Excellent Pizza. Always get it to go or delivered so can't comment on dining in but the Pizza is full of toppings with a good crust. My favorites are the combo and the Mediterranean
(5)Anjelah S.
Nice place to stop for a good pizza. Fast and friendly service. I ordered the Mediterranean pizza with white garlic sauce, spinach, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and feta cheese. I also ordered on mini cheese pizza and a chicken strip basket for my kids. It took about 15 min to get the order. Not bad. Everything was hot and fresh. Tasted great. The only Con I had with the place was the Booths. Very uncomfortable. I felt like I was sinking in. Need new springs? Carry out is best. I'll be back to try the chicken Caesar salad sometime.
(4)Kiana R.
The gluten free pizza here was very good! My husband was alergic to gluten and he said it was the best gluten free pizza he's had in a long time! Only thing is you have to get it in a medium and it's 14 dollars for a pepperoni pizza.
(5)Veronica C.
I'm a pizza lover and firm believer in no bad pizza some are just better than others. We came here while visiting town, after a jet boat ride just wanting something simple. The pizza was ok at best. The cheesy garlic bread was gross, and the employees were rude. Definitely won't return. Husband did like his beer on tap though and we were able to watch some college football.
(2)Joe H.
We are from out of town and tried this place based on other reviews. Pizza was great! We ordered 3 different kinds. Gluten free pepperoni, Margherita, and Hawaiin. The crusts are thin and perfect just the way we like. Guy taking are order was friendly and they had our pizza ready to take home in less than 15 minutes.
(5)Keno G.
With the kids we stuck to one pepperoni & bacon and one plain cheese. There was considerable grease left on the pan from the pepperoni & bacon, but they were both really tasty. This is a great place for big groups since there's lots of seating.
(4)Terra W.
The food is delicious! Friendly staff and clean atmosphere. Plenty of food for all. Ordered chicken strips, they were HUGE!!! Had a Caesar salad that had great flavor, spicy garlic. Mini pizza was perfect for one and the Cobb salad was very large also! Fresh veggies, nice avocado and very tasty! Great job Sunset Family Pizza!!!
(5)Cameron O.
3.5 stars. Nice and large, friendly service and enjoyable pizzas. Only downsides are cash only + seating is very uncomfortable in the booths (need to be re-sprung).
(3)Yesitsmekari B.
The service sucks!!!! I haven't even got our food yet and I had to review the service alone! We are not locals and it's probably obvious, but come on! My money is as green as yours!
(1)Colleen B.
Great pizza place for a family dinner or a casual meal. Nice staff, incredibly fresh ingredients on the pizza, and fair prices.
(4)Kelli C.
Visited Gold Beach for weekend. The pizza was so great that we ate here two nights in a row. Crispy thin crust is awesome.
(5)Booboo C.
Good pizza, arch rock beer, arcade with donkey kong, a view of the sea, fried pickles. Im happy.
(4)Diane M.
Wonderful place..and HUGH! Not just pizza either, although that's what we each had. We each got a mini, me with pepperoni and olives, my hubby had Canadian bacon and pineapple. Just the right size for lunch. Very friendly people too. Had to stand at the counter to order, but they brought everything to us. I'd come back again.
(4)Allison C.
We stopped by for a late lunch here. This place is definitely the kind of place you'd bring your kids' soccer team to. Big tables, and an arcade! We ordered at the counter, cash only as mentioned, and then hit the back room to play pinball, which was a treat! The guy at the counter brought our pizza and water back to us, and we were able to gaze out at the ocean through the large windows. We ordered a medium margharita pizza for the two of us, and it was delicious! Fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, and tons of cheese! I totally recommend the pizza!
(4)Erin H.
As good as I remember, but without a groaning. Granted, I was WAY less drunk this time, but I could definitely hear the groans in the back of my less drunk mind. I had this vegetarian thing with spinach and artichoke hearts and garlic sauce. If you want a reasonable comparison, think Round Table's gourmet veggie. They deliver, but since they were 20 feet from our motel hubby was too embarrassed to request it. I called it in and it was ready in 15 minutes. Pricing was on par with any non fast food pizza. Totally good.
(4)Janet M.
Pizza! Exclaimed Princess. Groan. Seriously? Hubby and I weren't hungry and our coast pizza experiences have been well, by and large, hit and miss. More miss than hit. Princess thinks most bad pizza is good. We stopped in here, lateish for dinner, and found the service to be stellar and the pizza ok. Atmosphere fine. Pizza joint. Got a small feta, artichoke heart, and bacon pizza for $12ish and some potato skins (4.50). All tasty. Wow. The tater skins came with sour cream AND ranch. Without asking. Princess loved her pizza so much she ate it for breakfast the next morning on the way to our next destination. Well, okay then.
(4)Mamma D.
Had the combination and added pineapple. The crust was crisp on the bottom and soft on top good amount of sauce and cheese with an abundance of toppings salami linguica pepperoni bell pepper onion olive and mushroom. Very tasty and satisfying. Very nice employees as well.
(5)Lindsay H.
We arrived twenty minutes before closing and apologized for being "those people". They cashier just laughed and made us feel right at home. He let me sample the arch rock IPA and I ended up getting a pint. Luckily, cause the brewery closed way early! We played a game of pool in their game room while our pizza cooked. Great atmosphere, decorations and service! The pizza was top notch too! We had half veggie and half combo. Took it back to our hotel room and enjoyed! Thanks for taking good care of us late travelers!
(4)L M.
We ate there on July, 30,2015. We placed our order for a medium "combo" meat pizza at the desk, along with a beer and a root beer. We had to ask if we were to go to a table, as nothing was said about the seating situation, so we did. There were several flies on the glass when we sat down. After we were finally brought the drinks, all the while watching customers having their orders taken and finding seating. 15 minutes had passed, I drank the beer, the wife was slowly sipping the root beer hoping to save some for whenever the pizza would be brought to the table. I ordered another beer, and another 10 minutes passes by, still no pizza, while many pizzas and salads were being taken to those that had come in after us. Finally, a fella comes to the table and says that the order taker had "forgotten" to put the order slip on the kitchen's rounder, apologizes, and says that we would only have another 5 minutes to go, and that we would get a free "growler" of the in-house beer for the inconvenience, before we left. So, we wait another 15 minutes, still pizzas going out, until ours finally shows up at the table, the girl plops it on the table and says..."there you go, do you want any ranch". We couldn't figure out why the crust was so unappetizing, taste-wise, and texture wise, I see in another posting that it is gluten-free on the combo. The crust was so tough, that it was almost impossible to cut it with the fork. There were supposed to be several types of meats on this pizza, along with the green peppers, onion, mushrooms, and olives. HOWEVER, there were only some VERY THINLY and VERY FEW slices of pepperoni and salami on it. We couldn't taste, or find any other types of the meats that were supposed to be on there. BUT there were lavish heaps of green pepper and onions on top of the base. Very, very thinly shaved pieces of mushrooms, and a few olives here and there, sprinkled around. There was so much green pepper and onions, that we scraped most of them off so we could try to taste SOMETHING other than that. Our "meat combo" would have made a very good vegetarian-type pizza! When I went to the order desk to acquire about the growler of beer, the girl look kinda dumbfounded, so I motioned to the fella, who made the offer, to reaffirm his statement, to which he replied...."oh, yeah, he gets a free growler. That took another 5 minutes to round up the bottle and fill. I would not recommend this place or go back..... NO THANK YOU.
(1)Diana B.
Went here on a Sunday night because it was the highest rated place on yelp that was open at the time. Best thing about this place were there arcade games and ocean view. Other than that, the pizza was stale, burnt, and drenched in oil. This is especially odd since we ordered a Maghreita--a completely vegetarian pizza. This is probably one of three times that I have ever had to take a napkin to soak the oil off the pizza in my entire life. On top of that, the staff were not the kindest. I don't plan on ever coming back to this place; however, I can appreciate that it is probably Gold Beach's best pizza joint.
(2)Deborah C.
Best pizza in Gold Beach. The family and staff that runs this place are always welcoming and happy to assist. The pizza dough is outstanding as is the sauce. Our family loves the Margarita pizza on thin crust as well as good ol fashion pepperoni. They tend to pile on the cheese so we generally request it "light" to suit our preferences. The wings are delish, can be slightly on the sweet side, so request spicy if you prefer. They are always willing to make it as you like. Oh and ask for fresh garlic, I have heard they grow it themselves. :) PS, My Italian mother came for a visit this month to GB and said she can't get this quality of pizza any where near her in Orange County.
(5)Drew P.
Glad I found this place! I was staying the night in Gold Beach during a road trip and was craving pizza. I looked this place up, and am glad I did! It was a Monday evening, and the restaurant was pretty empty, but they were doing a buzzing take out business. The kitchen was going full tilt boogie. The folks running the counter were very friendly, the pricing was spot on, the restaurant was clean and the pizza was REALLY good. I can only imagine what this place looks like on a Friday or Saturday night. Thanks Sunset Family Pizza!
(5)Coffee L.
Can't speak as to their pizza, but their salads are huge, beautiful, tasty and fresh!! With lots of ingredients. Absolutely recommend them if you're looking for a salad. Service by owner or manager was friendly..
(4)Jay N.
Our party of six all agree: Their pizza is beyond awesome!!! My wife had the carbonara and she can't stop talking about how great it was. I believe in giving credit when credit is due and this pizza spot is a MUST TRY!
(5)Larry W.
We were in Gold Beach staying at Ireland's Rustic Lodges and felt like having some pizza for dinner. We saw this place on Yelp and thought that we would give it a try. We ended up getting their Canadian Bacon/Pineapple pizza (mini) and boy was it good. And the employees there are very friendly and courteous. Next time we are in Gold Beach we will be having another meal there, for sure.

Sunset family Pizza is one of only two pizza restaurants in Gold Beach and it is the one most favored by the locals. Run by the same family for years & years, the atmosphere is one of immediate 'welcome home'...you'll feel like you've been a local for years, even if you're the newest of the noobs off the boat. At times the place does tend to get filled up, despite having lots of interior room with tables, etc., but the pizza is ALWAYS excellent, no matter what you order, and they specialise in THIN CRUST pizzas (which in my opinion is the only way to go, anyway). There're few things better in Gold Beach than to heave to, drop in and have a couple of beers & pizza with friends. If you've joined all the other California resident carpetbaggers who've found Gold Beach to be the perfect antidote to the perfidious & perverse peregrinations of those Never-Neverlanders to the south, you'll quickly find yourself making Sunset Family Pizza regular refueling station while in staying or living Gold Beach! Good grinds garanteed!
(4)Aaron A.
Decent pizza for a small town. Nothing spectacular, but respectable. Service is prompt and friendly. Don't bother with the beer though. Plastic mugs ruin any chance of truly enjoying the otherwise good quality locally crafted Arch Rock Brewery brew. A shame, really. Plastic? Really?
(3)Dan G.
After a long day of fishing on the Rogue we opted to scrap our dinner plans. A quick search of my default Yelp queries "pizza" and "craft beer" led us into the Sunset. They had a few local taps and growlers or bottles to go. We got a pint of the Arch IPA to split and put together an order of pies to go. Veggie for the lady and Greek pizza for me. They were up quick and we liked them both. What really made an impression for me was that the woman checking us out, who I'm guessing was the owner or management, asked us if we were staying locally and rang us up for a 10% off good neighbor discount. We stayed at a nice hotel on this trip where we were nickeled and dimed on everything and here's a family business that's giving us money back and taking care of us. Very cool and much appreciated. These are the kind of places I love.
(4)John W.
Very good pizza. Crust was cooked just like I like it. Got the sunset pizza and it had fresh ingredients and plenty of them. Will be coming back for more next time through town.
(5)Brittany C.
This is going to be short. Best pizza I have had in my entire life!! I wish I lived in Gold Beach so I could go here every week... Or maybe I'm not, I would be 50 pounds heavier.
(5)JJ D.
Someone in Gold Beach said that Sunset's pizza was way better than the "other" pizza place. I went in for lunch and the person was right! Ordered a vegetarian pizza, it was great! I have tried to call in and order delivery before, but when I call in, I get, "Sorry, can you hold?" So, don't try to call in for pizza delivery, they apparently are REALLY busy with deliveries. But going for lunch, got served rather quickly. You order at the counter, and they bring it to you. Not sure whether that deserves a "yes" to "waiter service."
(4)Elizabeth C.
Great pizza & they even had fried pickles as an appetizer. Most of the staff went out of the way to accommodate our requests. Only 2 things kept this from being 5 stars, They no longer serve a beer on their menu ( If you are not going to have it, then cross it out) & one of their staff was just scatter brained (luckly we only had to deal with him a couple of times). All in all, a great experience!
(4)Brian T.
Friendly staff and excellent food. We were greeted and helped immediately. The pizza was delicious with generous toppings and yummy flakey crust.
(5)Vicki J.
Really great casual atmosphere and large enough for numerous parties of 6 etc. Pizza was super great! We had margarita pizza and it was fabulous. Crust was crunchy on the bottom which is important to me. Lots of toppings too! Had side salads which were a mix of iceberg, spinach etc. Wine and tap beer was reasonable which I also liked!!
(4)heather f.
***Paleo Friendly*** Don't let the name of this place fool you. Very acceptable for anyone on a Paleo diet. We had Greek Salads: bacon, eggs, olives etc... Sweet potato fries Chicken wings Great food, views. Fast service, flexible menu.
(5)Jennifer W.
Such a meaty and well topped pizza. Made the right way with an artisan thin crust and wash on the sauce and cheese. We had a large combination, two side salads, and two beers for 25 even - you can't beat that!!!
(4)Holly C.
Good pizza place for the family. Best ever pizza? Nah, but the ambiance, ocean view, and arcade are great for the fam. Pizza is good and beer is cold.
(4)Frank R.
Great food, friendly service, pool tables and an incredible view. This is a wonderful family friendly spot to dine on the south oregon coast. We dine here whenever we visit the area. Favorite foods are the pepperoni pizza and the Cobb salad.
(4)Brittney P.
Since I left a negative review I felt I should counteract it with a positive. We left Barnacle Bistro after being ignored for over half an hour and came here. From the moment we walked in everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful. Credit card machine was down and I was a few dollars short with cash, they said don't worry about it and we should enjoy our meal and hopefully it would be back up by the time we were done. Kids had a yummy cheese pizza and our cheeseburger pizza was delish along with an excellent Caesar salad. They apologized profusely on our way out for the inconvenience of credit card problem. It was so minor, no apology needed. We would definitely come back if we didn't live 500 miles away!
(4)Rachael B.
Looking for a place that was open in gold beach on a Monday night..nothing but this perfect pizza place. Great service and super friendly and down to earth staff. They do deliveries. Great local beer from arch rock brewery. Ipa is yummy. I had the sunset pizza and cheesy bread very yummy . Hit the spot. Definately will be coming back next time I'm in gold beach. First time here and I felt very welcome
(5)Constance F.
When traveling with kids in gold beach, this is where you need to be. Awesome food, lots of variety for a pizza place, great view, games including air hockey and pool. We had a great time and we're able to relax. Definitely a good stop.
(5)Janell T.
Awesome! Dropped in on the way through town for a quick bite. Great food, amazing service, super fast and wonderful for kids!! Arcade area kept them entertained while we had a beer.
(5)Steve C.
Best of the pizza places in Gold Beach. Order-at-the-counter pizza and casual Italian fare in a spacious reataurant with a distant ocean view. No bar. Local draught beer on tap with a few TV's. Space in the back with video games and a pool table accomodates larger youth style groups well by keeping commotion seperated from adult diners. Dining area very brightly lit. Pizza is good. My fave is their Caesars salad. Great dressing for a pizza joint. Order the larger Caesar...it makes for a good splitter for two or even three. Nice enough to be considered a table service place but wait in line at the counter is their M.O. Friendly, efficient and clean. Better than most.
(4)Tom B.
Traveling through and enjoying the beautiful Oregon coast. After spending several hours on the Rogue (Jerrys) got a great Pizza at Sunset. Ordered 2 topping (Sausage and spinach) and it was fantastic. Counter service promptly served by smiling staff. I highly recommend this place.
(5)Liv M.
Our family of four each enjoyed an individual pizza, The fresh garlic and Caesar salads made it a great experience. Friendly service and a great air hockey table makes it an excellent choice in Gold Beach.
(4)Nadia M.
Very good pizza and gluten free options! Loved how food was not dripping in oil. Great for families. Would absolutely go back.
(4)Dayana M.
Really good food but I will admit it is quite pricey I'm very willing to pay for my quality but I didn't feel it was fully worth it but there was no other location open around us at the time so worth a try overall
(3)Beth G.
Fantastic pizza. the crust was beautifully flaky and almost cracker-like. Great service and toppings as well. Fifth star for letting us come in 15 minutes before closing, eating-in and not giving us less-than food or service for it. Having previously worked at a pizza restaurant, I know this can be annoying occasionally when you are ready to close and go home. But you never blinked an eye. THANKS!!
(5)George W.
Dropped about 25 motorcyclists on them on a beautiful Saturday at the Oregon Coast. Food was great, had us all served within 20 minutes. I'll make it a for sure ride stop.
(5)Sharla R.
Great pizza . We had the Canadian bacon and pineapple and absolutely loved it . Great crispy crust and fresh ingredients. The dinner salads were excellent as well. The price is great and the staff were attentive and friendly . We will be back next time we are in gold beach
(4)E. B.
Driving through on a long road trip, we didn't expect much. Already way past lunch hour, we hoped the emptiness of the place wasn't an indicator of the quality of food. What a pleasant surprise. We requested light cheese on a mushroom, olive, and half-sausage pizza, and it was delicious, with a light, crisp crust perfectly cooked. Good service, too. If we pass this way again, we'll go back for more.
(5)Lori T.
Just stopped in for a quick lunch and came away with much more. The owner greeted us and took our salad orders. Cobb Salad and Taco Salad. Brandy was our server and was FABULOUS! Very friendly, asked about our day and weekend getaway..She heard me mention I couldn't get an Internet connection on my phone. I was trying to locate a hotel to make reservations for the night. Brandy took it upon herself to go to her phone to try and look it up for us. She was able to get our information including a phone #. She didn't have to take time to help us, but she did and her "extra-mile" service was truly appreciated! Great job, Brandy! P.S. The salads were huge and really delicious!
(5)Lisa Y.
This place is awesome. Good pizza and good service. But the stand out, highlight of our experience was the above and beyond treatment we received from the owners of this establishment, most especially Carol. I sure hope I have your names correct, as I lost the napkin that I scribbled them down on. Brad and Carole, the wonderful owners and Brandy a staff member who was also extremely kind to us. So here's my story... We were traveling from northern California to Washington. Went along the coast up through Oregon. We stopped at Gold Beach to get some food and wanted to find a hotel, it was getting late and we realized we weren't going to make it to our planned stop. Just as the other reviews mention, we got in just before closing and the owners and employees couldn't have been kinder about it. They had actually just turned off their oven. Unbelievably, Carol says she will see if they can get the oven to turn back on. She explained that when they turn the oven off sometimes it won't turn back on right away. they went ahead and tried it, and lucky for us it did turn on. I figured that if the oven doesn't turn on maybe we can just order a salad or something. We have been traveling and we're hungry and the kids are getting tired, and we were asking about hotels in the area. So far we haven't found any with vacancies. This is when their kindness and customer service went to above and beyond anything that any pizza place should ever be expected to do for a customer. Carol pulled out a phone book and started calling hotel after hotel. We were having no luck as it was the 4th of July weekend and we didn't plan well the reservation I made for a hotel was way too far off the route and it was getting late and we were all tired. After her many attempts she let us borrow her cell phone and brought us the phonebook, all of our phones were dead and they were allowing us to charge then in the restaurant while we ate. The pizza was very good to top everything off. We eventually found a room in Coos Bay Oregon. It was about 2 hours away. We stopped here hoping to get some food when most of the other restaurants in the neighborhood were already closed, we got a great pizza with great service and met a some very nice people. Carole and Brad are two of the nicest people. They run a wonderful establishment and I am sure all of their employees are very happy to work for them. Carol went out of her way to help us without even batting and eye. She didn't hesitate or even think twice before she pulled out a phone book and started calling rooms for us, not to mention turning on their pizza oven and staying opened and not acting like we were any kind of an inconvenience. I do want to mention there were people in the restaurant when we came in and it was just a few minutes before closing. I would never walk into a place after closing and expect them to serve us. From the outside it appeared to still be opened. Thank you again Carol, Brad, Brandy, and the man that cooked our pie. Special thanks to you Carol for doing something you did not have to do to help out some perfect strangers. We ended up having a great trip. I hope we can do it again some day and I will make it a point to plan a stop for a good, good pizza in Gold Bend. Did I mention the pizza was excellent?
(5)Brandi C.
Update - Sunset Pizza now delivers! Yay! I'm so excited
(5)Kristen C.
We got delivery and it was quick. Staff was friendly and price was right. Veggie pizza was weighed down with too many toppings and mediocre crust. In this case less would have been more.
(3)Mary T.
Good variety on menu, more than just pizza. Kids can play the games (video arcade, air hockey, pool, etc) allowing mom and dad to enjoy dinner and some conversation.
(4)Ellis A.
Blech. Even after an evening of drinking, this food was disgusting. The pizza was so greasy and so bland, I had one piece and that was it for me. The salad was disgusting and tasted like a dirty dish rag. The french fries were frozen and tasted like freezer burn. I wish I would have gotten microwave pizza and made it in my hotel room.
(1)Ryan A.
We took and trip to the Oregon coast and need a break from seafood, so we checked out Sunset Pizza. We had the chicken & bacon pizza with the white garlic sauce and it was very good. Lots of chicken and other toppings, and the crust was crispy but still soft and chewy. My wife and I shared a medium and it was the perfect size for the two of us. I am only giving 4 stars due to them not having free refills on the soda, which is just plain ridiculous. It's been years since I've been to a restaurant that didn't give free soda refills, so they should definitely change their stupid drink policy.
(4)Shannon G.
Large, clean dining areas. Fireplace adds to cozy feel. Lots of pizza and non-pizza menu items. I ordered the Cobb Salad. It was good-sized, full of ingredients but the avocado slices tasted fermented. It was that tingly sensation like orange juice going bad. I mentioned it to the server and I was surprised that she did not obviously bring it to the cook's attention. Even if the avocado was sliced in advance and coated in lime juice to retard browning (and there was no lime or other citrus flavor), the avocado flavor should still have been present. This is a favorite spot of the locals and I would give it another try, but for pizza! BTW, my local contacts who recommended the restaurant shared some really nice stories about the owners.
(3)Isabella L.
Big thumbs up! Everything about our pizza experience was great. The server was super friendly and attentive. The chef even brought our food out and was really cool. The prices are very reasonable. The place takes you back to your childhood pizza houses, where kids can play with video games on one side of the restaurant while parents eat in relative peace. Lucky for me, we were the only people in the restaurant on a rainy Tuesday evening so no kids at all! The side ceasar was really tasty, and so was the cold pitcher of beer. But it's the pizza that has me raving. The crust is traditional hand toss - nice and crispy. Cheese and toppings are super fresh and delic. I love how all the veggies were chopped up into little chunks and fresh garlic was the icing on the cake. This pizza was soooooooo good - wish sunset was near my house!

I was pretty pleased with this pie, stopped by on impulse when zipping thru the town. Had a large meat special - which includes linguica, nice touch! Crust was a little thicker than I prefer, but nice and crispy, menu says dough made daily. I'd stop again.

Looking for the best pizza on the Oregon coast. Look no further than Sunset Family Pizza. Lots of top-quality toppings. Crust is very good. Their salads are excellent. Chicken ceasar is loaded with garlic and anchovy paste. The way it should be! The staff is very friendly and the place is always clean - including the rest rooms. You'll love this restaurant. Only wish they had wi-fi.

We ordered a small pizza, Greek, and Cobb salad with chicken and an iced tea came to $22 before tip. That's one $ in my opinion. Service was very friendly and courteous, and equally as important the food was really delicious. This is a family pizza place so don't come expecting the decor of a fancy Bistro and you'll likely love it.

I hadn't had pizza in over 6 months. What can I say, I ate the whole thing! Just got a small cheese pizza, 8 slices for about $9. It was really good. Nothing to rave about, but solid food.

Stopped in with low expectations and was totally surprised! Very generous on the jalapeño which were spicy and sliced to perfection. Crust was crispy and soft if that makes sense. The view was a bonus.

Sunset Pizza is serving up some pretty good eats. the service was friendly but a little lack-luster. I couldn't come to expect much from the little beach town it was in, but the food spoke for itself. Mmmmm-Mmmm-GOOD! The crust was almost like a flat bread with a super crispy outside and doughy top. The combo was a perfect choice for a little variety. No free refills on your soda though so make sure you get a large so it lasts!

The food was delicious and the service was wonderful! We were traveling from NV and took a chance and it paid off! Everything was amazing, including the potato skins!

My wife and I were plenty hungry having driven in to Gold Beach from Ukiah on a Sunday night. Service was fast and friendly at the counter. We ordered the potato skins (which came recommended on yelp, tripadvisor and by the counter person!) and a half pepperoni and half chicken- artichoke-spinach-garlic sauce (it had a name i don't remember). We also ordered a soda knowing the refills were not free, but the glass was plenty large enough for the meal. The potato skins tasted as they were freshly made and were loaded with bacon, cheese and sprinkled with green onions. Dipping them into the ranch and sour cream they served them with was a great deal at less then $5 for an appetizer. Actually, the best part of the skins was the cheese paper that came along with them! The pizza itself was surprisingly delicious...pepperoni slices were huge, nicely spiced and not too salty. The chicken half was really good with standard grilled chicken, marinated artichoke hearts and spinach but could've used a bit more sauce. The crust was very good - not too thin, not too thick - and had a very nice flavor. Overall the price was fair for the quality of food we got. We really enjoyed our pizza here and glad we found it!

A solid 4 with one caveat. Ate here twice while on vacation. Loved it! If we lived within 20 miles (instead of 400 miles), this place would be our regular, for sure. Toppings are generous, and I loved the crust. It was crispy on the bottom, and not too gooey on top. They heaped on the cheese, and it was marvelous. It is very spacious inside. Fantastic ocean views. Kitchen is very clean - you can see the kitchen and prep area easily. Very family-friendly, and the staff were all very pleasant to us on both visits. The one caveat is this.... I'd pass on ordering bacon. The bacon is thin strips of bacon (hard to describe this) wound up in a circle. It's basically the same form-factor as Canadian bacon - but it's just regular bacon wound into a flat disc. The flavor is OK (I think). The problem is that its put on top of the pizza and is burned to a black crisp during cooking. Even if you like crispy bacon, this'd still be overcooked. Not a big deal though.

Great pizza and salad and a great view of the ocean. Nice selection of beer as well. Great for family games and then tv/sports in front. Fun for the whole family. The adults can find a quiet booth in front and the kids can play air hockey, pinball etc. Great place to bring the whole gang! Easy to accomodate a large group. Fun for bigger or smaller groups. Great parking, even with a boat or RV, just look around and you can find a spot. Pizza is wonderful try pepperoni yum.

I'm fond of Sunset Pizza. I go here quite often there is a young man that makes pizza in the evenings and it is always great! I like their thick fresh toppings. I generally have a salad with my pizza that is always nice and fresh. Service is generally friendly, nice views and they have good parking. This is always my top pick when coming to Gold Beach.

Had the chicken strips ... large & hot, but had a pretty thick coating of breading. Lots of menu items. Friend ordered a pizza -- it looked good. Decent beer selection. Tv's on. Plenty of seats.

I was really happy with my entire experience at this place. The whole staff was exceptionally friendly - you can see into the kitchen and the chefs were all smiles - and kept up with my Mom's chattiness. They have a good selection of beer on tap, and prices for food and pizza were very reasonable. The crust was probably the highlight for me - it's crisp and made fresh each day. The toppings are all piled on top of the sauce and cheese, but are so tasty and fresh that I enjoyed the fact that they were falling off onto the plate. I recommend the vegetarian pizza! We walked in 1/2 hour before closing, and were the only party in there on a weeknight, but they have a full 'game room' in the back with an air hockey and pool table, arcade games, and a television. I think it would be a great place for kids.

We ate here at the end of July, my first review didn't take I guess. Plain and simple, we didn't like it. All of the toppings roll off the pizza, sauce was very bland, WAY too much cheese (under the toppings) and the veggies were minced into tiny bits and uncooked on top of that. The sausage was ground into crumbles so small it was hard to detect what exactly it was. We would have better off with a Papa Murphys.

Really liked the mini pizza with the garlic white sauce

Excellent pizza! Will definitely stop in every time I drive through!

We settled for pizza here our first night in town and settled we did. We were hopeful in the Veggie Lovers pizza and found no one here is vegetarian. The pie was topped w/ 2 lbs in diced tomatoes and some mushrooms, onions and the like. I'm thinking that less is more and maybe plain cheese should've been the call.

Great pizza and fresh toppings. Extra points for checking my order before I left as the chef had forgotten the fresh tomato. Pizza was really really good. Have beer, wine and a fireplace. 2 plasma TVs. Didn't see any video games if you are bringing kids. 2 small pizzas for 20 bucks, and worth every penny. I usually order from Vancouver Pizza, WA, which would have cost double. This was just as good, but the menu/ ingredients were not as inventive. Did not have the ability to do take and bake, so I had to subtract a star. I travel with a dog so eating to go is important.

Probably the best pizza on the coast!!! Love their pizzas and service is very friendly too! :D Also lots of space and games to play like pool.

I'm picky about pizza, especially good pizza crust, and I was not disappointed here. The crust was crisp without being overdone, the toppings were fresh and great tasting. I like green pepper on my pizza, and it often is overcooked, but this was cooked with just a little crunch left. I'm also picky about sauce, as I think there is often too much, which drowns out the other textures and flavors of the pizza. In this case, the sauce was the right level of compliment to the other savory toppings and lent the right background note to a great pie. I'll be stopping there every time I go to Gold Beach, and wishing this place were in Seattle where I live. I'm all about the food, but some folks will enjoy the panoramic ocean view and a safe place for the kids to play video games, pool and even pinball without disturbing the other guests, but still in view.
